Following a devastating spinal cord accident that initially left him with the grim prognosis of never walking again, let alone running, Zac defied all odds. Not only did he run a marathon the very next year, but he also went on to represent his country in track events, securing a silver medal at the ASEAN Para Games.
Zac had previously run the Singapore Marathon in 2012, before the life-altering accident, and again in 2014. Now, nearly a decade later, fuelled by a desire to inspire his two-year-old daughter, Zac is gearing up to run his home marathon once again. In a remarkable feat, he aims to set a new Guinness World Record for a Para athlete running a marathon, striving to beat a time of 05:30:00. Adding a touch of serendipity, the Singapore Marathon falls on December 3rd, the same day as his daughter’s birthday.
